Typical Properties of Firm Density Closed Cell Silicone Foam
Description: Firm density closed cell silicone foam material designed to be used in gaskets applications that require greater sealing capabilities than a traditional sponge rubber offers. Firm density closed cell silicone foam provides users with excellent UV and ozone resistance and is often used as a material to isolate vibration or reduce shock. This material is a lightweight silicone foam and provides users with an operating temperature of -67°F to +392°F, with the ability to withstand +482°F on an intermittent basis. Firm density closed cell silicone foam can be utilized to seal electronic, outdoor, and lighting enclosures, while providing protection against wind, fire, and rain. A UL 94 V-0 and UL 94 HF-1 listed material, Firm density closed cell silicone foam material is formulated to meet the requirements of FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.2600
M&P Sealing’s closed cell silicone foam gasket material is available in densities ranging from medium to an extra-firm density. Firm density closed cell silicone foam can be converted into rolls ranging from as narrow as 1/4″ wide, up to 36″ in width. Available in Grey, the material has a smooth skin on both sides and can be manufactured to meet a wide range of standard and custom thicknesses. M&P Sealing has the capability to supply firm density closed cell silicone foam material without adhesive or choose from either our standard acrylic adhesive or our high-temperature acrylic adhesive. M&P Sealing has the ability to die-cut or waterjet cut firm density closed cell silicone foam to meet all your requirements from the design stage through the production phase.
