Custom Gasket Flash Cutting – Three Machines In-House

With three in-house flash cutters, M&P Sealing has the capacity to produce custom gaskets quickly and efficiently, from one-off replacements and prototypes to larger production runs. Digital flash cutting eliminates the need for traditional dies on many applications, allowing us to move from a drawing or CAD file to a finished gasket faster while accommodating complex shapes, custom dimensions and a wide range of non-metallic gasket materials. With multiple machines running in-house, we can handle urgent requirements, reduce lead times and maintain the flexibility to keep production moving when our customers need it most.

  • High-precision gasket cutting with flash cutting technology

  • Fabrication using high-performance sealing materials including PTFE, graphite, rubber, and compressed fiber

  • Reverse engineering capabilities

  • Fast-turn gasket prototyping and production to minimize downtime

Have a drawing, CAD file, dimensions or an existing gasket? Send it to our team. M&P Sealing can help identify the appropriate material, manufacturing method and gasket design for your application—from a single replacement gasket to ongoing production quantities.

Materials We Manufacture

M&P Sealing fabricates gaskets from a wide range of high-performance materials designed for demanding industrial environments. Each material offers unique performance characteristics, allowing us to deliver sealing solutions tailored to specific industrial applications. Our team helps customers select the right material based on application requirements, operating conditions, and long-term performance.

  • PTFE / ePTFE: Chemical resistance and corrosion
  • Graphite: High temperature and pressure
  • FFKM: Extreme chemical and temperature environments
  • Viton® (FKM): Heat and hydrocarbon resistance
  • CNA: General-purpose, cost-effective sealing

How to Select the Right Gasket?

Selecting the right gasket is critical to achieving a reliable, long-term seal. The correct choice depends on a combination of operating conditions, media compatibility, and flange design. Choosing the wrong material or configuration can lead to leakage, equipment damage, safety risks, and costly downtime. At M&P Sealing, we help customers match the right gasket material and design to their specific application—ensuring performance in even the most demanding environments.

Key Factors to Consider

Operating Temperature

Temperature plays a major role in material selection.

  • High temperatures: Graphite or metal-reinforced gaskets
  • Moderate temperatures: CNA or elastomer materials
  • Extreme heat + chemicals: FFKM or specialty materials

Internal Pressure

Pressure determines the type of gasket construction required.

  • High-pressure systems: Spiral wound or reinforced gaskets
  • Low-pressure systems: Elastomer or ePTFE gaskets

Media (Chemical Compatibility)

The fluid or gas being sealed must be compatible with the gasket material.

  • Aggressive chemicals: PTFE or FFKM
  • Oils and fuels: Viton® or Buna-N
  • Water and steam: EPDM

Incorrect material selection can lead to rapid degradation and seal failure.

Flange Type & Surface Condition

Flange design and condition directly impact sealing performance.

  • Raised face flanges: Standard ring gaskets
  • Full-face flanges: Full-face gaskets for even load distribution
  • Damaged or uneven flanges: ePTFE or soft, conformable materials
