Typical Properties of Soft Density Open Cell Silicone Foam
Description: Soft density open cell silicone foam designed to be used in gaskets applications that require a lightweight and easy to compress material. Soft density open cell silicone foam provides excellent UV and ozone resistance and takes a low compression set. This material offers resistance to extreme low and high temperature and has a service temperature of -67°F to +392°F, with the ability to withstand +482°F on an intermittent basis. Soft density open cell silicone foam is a non-toxic, non-flammable material, and due to being lightweight, has virtually no outgassing. Soft density open cell silicone foam is formulated to meet the requirements of FDA regulation CFR 117.2600 and is also listed under UL 94 V-0 and UL 94 HF-1. Upon request, soft density open cell silicone foam can be manufactured to meet the BMS 1-68 specification.
M&P Sealing’s open cell silicone foam gasket material is available in soft density and a soft/medium density. Soft density open cell silicone foam can be converted into rolls ranging from as narrow as 1/4″ wide, up to 36″ in width. Available in white, the material has a smooth skin on both sides and can be manufactured in a wide range of standard and custom thicknesses. M&P Sealing has the capability to supply soft density open cell silicone foam without adhesive or choose from either our standard acrylic adhesive or our high-temperature acrylic adhesive. Send in a drawing, and let M&P Sealing die-cut or waterjet cut soft density open cell silicone foam to meet your exact prototype and production requirements.
