Typical Properties of Soft Density Closed Cell Silicone Sponge
Description: Soft density closed cell silicone sponge material designed for use in gaskets applications that require a soft compressible material. Soft density closed cell silicone sponge offers resistance to low and high temperatures and provides users with a service temperature of -103°F to +450°F. This style of a gasket is UV and ozone resistant and takes a low compression set. Soft density closed cell silicone sponge is formulated to meet the following requirements: ASTM D1056, MIL-R-6130, and MIL-STD 670 TE7.
M&P Sealing’s closed cell silicone sponge gasket material is available in a wide range of densities from soft to extra-firm with varying densities and formulations available in between. Soft density closed cell silicone sponge can be converted into rolls ranging from 1/4″ wide up to 36″ in width. Available, in many colors, the surface of this material has a fine fabric finish on both sides and can be manufactured in thicknesses ranging from as thin as 1/32″, to as thick as 2″. M&P Sealing has the ability to supply soft density closed cell silicone sponge without adhesive or with either our standard acrylic adhesive or our high-temperature acrylic adhesive. M&P Sealing has the capacity to fabricate soft density closed cell silicone sponge by die-cutting or waterjet cutting to meet your design and production requirements.
